At a special ceremony held on 30 May 2017, in Brussels, Watera Hellas SA was honored for its contribution to the implementation of the research program entitled “Sol-Brine”. The program entailed the development of an advanced,innovativeand energy autonomous system for brine processing from desalination units by adopting and applying the principle of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD). Sole-Brine was electedas the best research funded program under the LIFE framework, in the category “Environment”, over the past 25 years. Besides Watera Hellas, the other consortium partners were the Municipality of Tinos and the Athens Technical University.
